Principle
Mottronix technology is based on a unique feature rooted in the intrinsic physics of quantum materials called Mott insulators. In this class of materials, the insulating state, originating from strong electron-electron interactions neglected by classical quantum theory ruling semi-conductors, can collapse when these materials are submitted to electric pulses. The resulting insulator-to-metal transition, either volatile or non-volatile, is associated with the creation of an electronic phase separation at the nanoscale. This unique electronic switch sets the bases for a new electronics called Mottronics. Today, Mottronics components are developed as Mott-RAM, a unique technology based on 20 years of research by the scientific founding team members of Mottronix.
Mottronix’s technology harnesses the unique properties of quantum materials (Mott insulators) that switch between insulator and metal states with electric pulses, to create ultra-efficient electronic components built on 20 years of pioneering research.
